Amy Dufrane is a dynamic global leader in human resources and workplace management. As CEO of HRCI, a leading provider of learning and credentialing for HR professionals and their organizations, she brings decades of experience in human capital management and employee wellness to interviews and media appearances.
Dufrane helps set the standard for HR, serving as the international secretariat for Global HR standards through ISO, the International Organization for Standardization.
Her numerous honors include the Global Impact Award of Distinction from the Bowman Foundation for Workplace Equity and Mental Wellness and the Globee Award for Women in Business. For the past four years, she has been named one of the top 100 HR Tech Influencers by HR Executive magazine.

Prior to joining HRCI in 2011, Dr. Dufrane spent two decades developing innovative human capital strategies across the private, public, and higher education sectors — including the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board (in partnership with the SEC and FINRA); the Optical Society (where she collaborated with Nobel Laureates and renowned patent holders); Marymount University (where she served as the institution’s first full-time human resources officer); and Bloomingdale’s, where she launched her career.
She is the co-founder of the podcast Inevitable: The Future of Work, creator of the Alchemizing HR webinar series, and the facilitator, author, and driving force behind The Rise of HR: The Future of Work — a landmark volume developed with 73 HR thought leaders, including Dave Ulrich, Libby Sartain, and Bill Schiemann.
Dr. Dufrane holds a doctorate in education from The George Washington University, an MBA and MA from Marymount University, and a BS from Hood College. She is credentialed as a Senior Professional in Human Resources® (SPHR®) through HRCI and holds the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation from the American Society of Association Executives.
She serves as a board member of the World Federation of People Management Associations (WFPMA) and the North American Human Resource Management Association (NAHRMA), and as Chair of the Board for Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind. She is also a member of the Economic Club of Washington, D.C., the Wall Street Journal CEO Council, and the CEO Roundtable.
